Desperate times call for desperate measures. That's what author Kamichi Jackson decided when she recently put an original, un-produced movie script (for a project entitled "On the Dotted Line") up for auction on eBay. ‘Everything Else>Weird Stuff>Slightly Unusual' is the only category under which she could rightly post such an item."This is definitely an unconventional approach," admits Jackson, who has recently also become a member of the prestigious National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment. "But I'm discovering that sometimes you have to think outside the box to make things happen. Up until now, nothing else I've tried has worked.

Surely this can't hurt."If it sounds as if Jackson is anxious to unload the script, it's because she is. Currently at work on her first novel (‘The Brownstone'), this second-time author (her first published title is a chapter book entitled ‘You're Too Much, Reggie Brown') is finding herself unable to devote the time and effort she'd like to the project."The further along I get in writing ‘The Brownstone', the more I realize what an important work this will be for me. This is the book that says ‘this girl can write'! I want to put my all into it, but to do so I need to be able to write full-time. That'll allow me to keep my creativity flowing so that I can complete this and other projects in the works."Those other projects include additional installments in the Reggie Brown Series; a children's internet series called 'HyperLinc' that she's developing as her contribution to bridging the gap in the "Digital Divide"; a studio CD she's currently producing and recording to accompany ‘The Brownstone', and a reality-TV project (‘The Jump Off') she's developing and shopping around to networks."If
